The Real Reason Israel Has Nukes And Iran Doesn't

Former senior UN official Craig Mokhiber spoke to Declassified about the role nuclear weapons has played in the US-Israel assault on Iran, and how the world's bullies flout the international rules based order.

In 2023, Craig Mokhiber resigned from position as a UN director in New York, accusing the international body of failing to prevent what he termed a 'textbook genocide' being committed by Israel in Gaza.

Trump And Hegseth: Two Soulless Men Devoid Of Pity

Right at the launching of the US and Israeli war on Iran, itself a major war crime, the US fired a precision strike with a Tomahawk missile on an elementary school building. Some 160 girls aged 7-12 were killed, either by the powerful blast or by the collapse of the two-story concrete structure. Asked about the tragedy and slaughter of innocents, Commander-in-Chief Trump, after initially pleading innocence. He later suggested it was the Iranians, whose missiles he claimed "are often inaccurate."

When later videos appeared showing the distinct image of a Tomahawk missile striking, he slithered over to another lie, calling the Tomahawk a "generic missile that many countries have bought and can buy."

The truth? The Tomahawk is a US missile made in the US and is strictly controlled, and offered only to a few trusted allies like Britain and Australia.

Donald Trump Shits Himself - James O'Brien On TACO's U-Turn

Donald Trump has told the US military to postpone "all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure" after two days of "very good and productive conversations" with Tehran.

Posting on Truth Social, the US president said the pause will last for five days and added that it depends on "the success of the ongoing meetings and discussions". He said Washington and Tehran held negotiations "regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East". It comes after Trump issued an ultimatum to Iran, warning the US would "obliterate" its power plants unless its effective blockade on the Strait of Hormuz ended within 48 hours. That deadline was due to expire later on Monday.

Meanwhile, Iran warned on Monday that it will target electrical plants in Israel and across the Middle East if Mr Trump followed through on that threat.

What The Pro-Israel Media Gets Wrong About Iran War - With Abby Martin

Independent journalist Abby Martin has spent decades covering American wars of aggression, and has witnessed first hand how the corporate media 'manufactures consent' for these wars. The US-Israel assault on Iran is no different.

Speaking to Declassified editor Phil Miller, they discuss the dismal corporate media coverage in the UK and US, how no lessons have been learnt from the Gaza genocide, and why Keir Starmer can't stand up to Donald Trump over Iran.

Iran Is Playing The Long Game To Exhaust the U.S.

Three weeks into the war on Iran, the conflict is expanding more than ever. The Strait of Hormuz is closed, energy infrastructure is under attack, and U.S. bases are increasingly vulnerable. Israel and Washington are escalating.

According to Middle East expert Vali Nasr, this is actually all part of Iran's strategy. Iran isn't trying to win quickly. To "win" is to survive - and for that it wants to make the war longer, more expensive, and politically unsustainable for the United States.

Trump, Israel, And The End Of The Global Economy

The Iran war has again highlighted the limitations of the mainstream media's coverage, where you would struggle to grasp the fact that the Israelis and Americans are the aggressors, and that Iran is the country that is being attacked.

Declassified UK: Starmer's Iran War Cover-up Exposed

We visited RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire on Tuesday to investigate how Donald Trump is using this airbase to bomb Iran. Screens had been put up behind the fences to restrict visibility and several roads closed, limiting access to journalists and members of the public. However by using a ladder and some ingenuity, we were able to see pallets of 2,000lb bombs being loaded onto American B-1 war planes bound for Iran.

RAF Fairford is the only US airbase in Europe with a long enough runway for launching B1 bombers. However, there remains a lack of transparency regarding the role the base is currently playing. This comes despite recent polling by YouGov indicating that a majority of the British public opposes the use of UK bases for US military strikes against Iran.

The US Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth has openly said there will be "No stupid rules of engagement", "No democracy building exercise" and that the only ones who need to be worried right now are "The Iranians who think they're going to live". President Trump has said that the US could "Take apart their electric capacity within one hour, and it would take them 25 years to rebuild it". At least some of the bombs used to commit such war crimes are likely to have been stored or transported through UK bases.

At the same time, Keir Starmer has maintained that Britain "will not be drawn into the wider war". But with no transparency around US targets in Iran, questions remain about how this position aligns with developments on the ground. Estimates suggest that since the assault began on February 28th, thousands of civilians have been killed or injured in US-Israeli attacks, underscoring the human cost of the conflict.

All Four Living Ex-Presidents Deny Trump's Bullshit Iran Conversation

Donald Trump claimed twice on Monday that he had spoken directly to one of his presidential predecessors who had expressed approval for his bombing of Iran.

The only trouble is representatives for all four of the living former presidents said they had not spoken to Trump about the war in the Middle East.

An aide for George W Bush said he has not "been in touch" with Trump.

A spokesperson for Bill Clinton said the current president was not referring to him in the anecdote.

An aide for Barack Obama said he has had "no recent conversations" with Trump while an insider close to Joe Biden said the current president was not talking about him either.

It Is Time For The World To Move On Without The United States

The US no longer wants to be the guarantor of the world order. It's time the rest of us take this responsibility.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched a war on Iran. The US-Israeli attacks came without prior warning or approval by the United Nations and targeted and killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Just two months earlier, the US launched another attack, on Venezuela, in which its special forces kidnapped Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from his residence in Caracas and transferred him to New York, where he faces criminal charges in federal court.

In between these two violent attacks, US President Donald Trump withdrew from 66 international organisations, including 31 UN entities, and launched the Board of Peace, a new institution he chairs personally that he suggested might replace the UN.

These and other developments in recent years demonstrate that the world order the US helped establish in 1945 no longer serves its interests.

Nanny State Discovers Linux, Demands It Check Kids' IDs Before Booting

When I was a teenager, I was forbidden to look at Playboy Magazine. I just wanted to read the articles and interviews (Cough, Cough). No, seriously, I did, but I also wanted to look at the photos. Guess what? Although I was told not to, I read Playboy anyway. Here we are, decades later, and people are still trying, and failing, to prevent young people from seeing and reading forbidden fruit. I never thought, though, that 21st-century prudes would block young people from using operating systems! But here we are. Lucky us.

As my colleague Liam Proven reports, several states in the US are now demanding that operating system vendors collect and store the age or date of birth for each user account. Now, for Apple and Microsoft, it's no big deal. Microsoft, for instance, requires Windows 11 users to have a Microsoft account, and Apple, while claiming it's a privacy-first platform, still examines every photo you take with Apple's Enhanced Visual Search.

It's a different story with Linux and the other open source operating systems, like the BSDs. They have always been about empowering their users to do anything they want, within the confines of their licenses, anyway, anytime they want, no matter whether they're five or ninety-five.

This App Will Detect People Wearing Smart Glasses Near You

Smart glasses aren't just the stuff of Hollywood anymore: You can buy a pair right now. Devices like Ray-Ban Metas come equipped with speakers, a microphone, embedded cameras, and connectivity to your smartphone - all in a package that largely looks like a normal pair of glasses. That's great for enthusiasts who want a hands-free smartphone experience when out and about, but not so great for anyone who dislikes the idea of invisible cameras everywhere.

There are two sides to these privacy worries. One is the personal angle. Many of us don't want the people around us shoving their smartphone cameras in our faces when we're out in public, but at least then we'd know we're being recorded. These embedded cameras are tough to spot unless you know what you're looking for, which means there's a feeling of always being watched by anyone walking past wearing glasses. On the other hand, there's the larger privacy concern that comes with the territory of a huge company like Meta. Just last week, we learned the company plans to bring facial recognition tech to its Ray-Ban and Oakley smart glasses with a feature called "Name Tag," which would give the wearer insights into the people they encounter using Meta AI. Taken together, smart glasses pose an unprecedented privacy and security risk for those of us living our lives, when both our neighbors and law enforcement have the accessibility to spy on us without our knowledge.

Goodbye To The Ghost In The Wire

Some names trend. Some names echo. Jason Snitker - Parmaster - is the second kind.

Most people won't recognize it. That's fitting. The sharpest minds from that era didn't want to be recognized. They weren't chasing influence. They weren't building audiences. They were building understanding.

Today we measure influence in followers. Back then, influence moved through private BBS boards and whispered reputations.

Those were my influencers. And the defining trait? They didn't want to be known. They wanted to know.

Before cybersecurity was an industry, hacking was a temperament. It was the kid who takes things apart. The kid who looks at "alien technology" - telecom switches, banking systems, defense contractor networks - and refuses to accept that it's magic.

First They Came For The Immigrants

On December 2, 2025, the first public reports emerged about the impending launch of "Operation Metro Surge," a deployment of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to target undocumented Somalis in Minneapolis. Five weeks later, on January 7, 2026, ICE thug Jonathan Ross fired three shots that killed American citizen Renee Good as she attempted to drive away from him.

Good's murder marked an inflection point in the Trump regime's iron-fisted war against immigrants across the U.S. - a war that has proven to be about much more than targeting "criminal aliens" as more activists find themselves caught in ICE's brutal dragnet. Less than three weeks after Good was killed, federal agents gunned down Alex Pretti, another American whose murder enflamed a nation already in tumult over ICE's tactics and its indiscriminate targeting of whole communities, citizen and non-citizen alike.

Both murders during Operation Metro Surge were followed by a similar pattern. First, Trump regime officials immediately assassinated the characters of Good and Pretti as "domestic terrorists." When that backfired as the public learned about the victims - one, a poet and mother of three, and the other, a VA hospital nurse and registered gun owner - the regime quickly moved to cover up details of the murders, blocking Minnesota officials from the federal investigations.

But something else also took place in between the mayhem. The day before Pretti was killed, more than 50,000 Minnesotans packed the streets of Minneapolis in subzero temperatures and a biting negative 30-degree windchill to demand the withdrawal of all federal agents from the city. The march was in response to calls for a general strike by local faith and labor leaders and saw hundreds of businesses closed in support of the protests.

Gary McKinnon hacked into 97 U.S. military and government sites in the early 2000s from his girlfriend's aunt's flat in London. NSA at Fort Meade. DISA. Army, Navy, Air Force networks. NASA. He was a guy from Falkirk, Scotland, who grew up near Bonnybridge, one of the UK's most active UFO hotspots, who had read the Disclosure Project book and wanted to know for himself. What he found inside those systems, and what the U.S. government did to him for finding it, is one of the most consequential stories in modern UFO history.

Nationalize Amazon

There are many lessons we could take from the last decade of American politics, in which our country has degenerated further and further into an oligarchic hellscape. One I hope a majority would agree with is that current levels of wealth inequality are incompatible with political democracy. There are various ways this issue might be addressed, but one I'd prefer is nationalizing giant corporations, like Amazon, by which I mean putting them under public control and redirecting the profits to socially-beneficial ends.

I was struck by a recent post that appeared on the website Bluesky, which said that given Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has a net worth of more than $253 billion, he could light $1 million on fire every day for almost 700 years without exhausting his funds. If this wasn't incredible enough, a number of commentators pointed out the post was misleading, since Bezos earns more than $1 million in interest every day, so, actually, the oligarch could burn $1 million a day in perpetuity. This is, needless to say, outrageous.

How Labour Megadonor Won Israeli Medal Of Honour

A British businessman who funded Keir Starmer and several senior Labour ministers was awarded the Israeli medal of honour for his "dedication" to and "love" for Israel, it can be revealed.

The information was obtained via a Freedom of Information request issued to the Israeli president's office by lawyer Elad Man from NGO Hatzlacha and shared exclusively with Declassified.

It exposes how Sir Trevor Chinn, an influential entrepreneur and one of Britain's leading pro-Israel lobbyists, was awarded Israel's highest civilian honour in November 2024.

The medal was granted by Israel's president Isaac Herzog, whose words were cited by the International Court of Justice earlier that year as plausible evidence of incitement to genocide.

Why 'Practical' Privacy Is the Biggest Lie In Tech

This debate is not about whether limiting privacy can accelerate growth. It is about whether trading long-term freedom for short-term scale is a price we should be willing to pay, and the answer is no. Because what's at stake is security, freedom, and human dignity, and the cost of losing that in society for future generations is too high.

Tech CEOs Confused By Why Everybody Hates AI So Much

These days, it's not enough to sit and watch as AI destroys a generation of students, makes it impossible to find a new job, and generates military targets by the thousands - you gotta be grateful for it, too.

That, at least, is the attitude of the tech elites who've spent years pushing AI on the masses, only to find the public is in no such mood. As the New York Times observed over the weekend, the particular characteristics of what some have called the "AI bubble" diverge from similar moments in economic history in one key way: practically everybody hates it.
